PageRank Guide - Do-Follow Blog List

Thursday, November 29, 2007

Here is a dofollow blog list. All of the blog's listed have removed the nofollow tag from their blog posts. I any of the links are not working or have changed, or if the blog has re-applied the nofollow tag, just leave a comment. Also, if you own a dofollow blog, feel free to leave a comment with a link to your blog in it. I'll keep adding to the list. Get Rid of Acne Fast.

PageRank Guide - Lazy Sunday for PR

Sunday, November 25, 2007

I didn't really do much to increase my PR today other than post some more at DP and submit my site to a directory. I also found this one link to a PR7 site that allows you to post a journal which goes up on a 'featured' type RSS page, which is also a PR7. I scanned the source code for 'nofollow', and when I didn't find anything, I wrote up a little interesting post and included a link to my site in the signature. And afterwards I pinged the site at Ping-O-Matic so Google would update the page and see my link.

And as I write this I remember at DP, someone offered me a free review of this blog and inclusion in two PR5 directories for free. I hope that will increase my number of backlinks and thus increase my PR.

If anyone wants to comment on anything interesting, go ahead. I need something new to write about anyway.

PageRank Guide - Leaving Blog Comments for PR

Saturday, November 24, 2007

I'm pretty sure a lot of you reading this guide know about blog comments and what they do for a blog. But I don't know if you know that blog comments can help boost your PR a lot.

There are four main types of blog commenting systems used by the majority of blogs:

  1. Blogs that use comment moderation and "rel=nofollow"
  2. Blogs that use no comment moderation and "rel=nofollow"
  3. Blogs that use comment moderation and links follow
  4. Blogs that use no comment moderation and links follow
#1 is usually reserved for blogs that receive a lot of traffic and want to make sure no comments are spam and no comments are left just for PR juice purposes.

#2 is usually reserved for blogs that will let users post whatever comments they want, but the links will not serve any PR purpose, only traffic.

#3 is usually reserved for blogs that promote leaving comments because the links will follow, but don't want many spam comments to plague their blog.

#4 is the blog most webmasters want to find. These blogs have no comment moderation, meaning comments will go up instantly, and link follow through to your website, meaning a boost in PR.

So in this post we will be talking about blogs that use system #4.

Finding these blogs isn't that difficult. Just do a Google search for "do-follow blogs", and usually this will bring up a site that contains a list of blogs that use "do-follow." Just click through the list and leave a comment on each site, noting which sites use comment moderation and which do not.

When I find a site that uses system #4, I then note it's PR and use this tool: PageRank Search. Just enter the URL, set the tool to order by pagerank, and set the number of results to 20. Then click search, and it should bring back a bunch of inner pages URL's and list each pages PageRank. Then, just copy the URL's into your address bar, and leave a comment linking back to your site! There you go! Instant PR boost.

However, I am in no way advocating the act of leaving spam in other people's blog. Usually what I will do is to set my name as a keyword (mentioned in the previous post), set my URL to this site, and leave an insightful comment that contributes to the overall article found. I never leave "Nice tip." or anything like that. I leave a one to two sentence comment that makes sense and contributes to the blog.

Here's an example of a do-follow blog list I found: Example

If anyone has any other examples or tips they would like to share, just leave a comment. Oh, and this blog is no-follow. Sorry!

PageRank Guide - Stumbles and Blog Comments

Friday, November 23, 2007

Today to increase my PR I hopped on over to Digital Point forums to check out the freebies section. There, I saw that a few members were giving out free stumbles, and of course, I had to take the opportunity. In the reply, I left links linking back to this website and each of it's posts, which should generate some PR. Also, the stumble will increase traffic and put a couple more links on their stumble profiles linking to my site.

Stumbleupon is a social bookmarking tool used to visit and discover new and intriguing sites. These sites could have never been discovered if it were not for one stumbler who came across the site and stumbled it. You rate sites by giving them a thumbs up or a thumbs down, and discovering a new site is a breeze. There is also a stumble button that will take you to a site that either one of your friends stumbled or another person stumbled. You can also stumble through photos, videos, and through a site.

At DP, I saw an offer for free comments on a PR3 blog. I jumped on over to jt-culture.com, where comments are free and they are on PR0-2 pages. I looked through the archives for the highest PR pages and left comments on there.

The trick to leaving good comments for high PR is that your name should always be a keyword. In this case, I used the keyword "PageRank Guide" as my name. This is the same as including anchor text for a link. Watch out, however, because some webmasters find that using a keyword for your name is spam and will delete your comment immediately. Comments can also bring in a decent amount of traffic from readers clicking on your link.

PageRank Guide - Forum Signature Links

Thursday, November 22, 2007

How I increased my PageRank today:

Today I put a link to this website in my signature at Digital Point Forums. I have a strong profile there and I average around 10 posts a day, so I should be receiving tons of strong backlinks from there in no time.

PageRank Guide Tip:

Actually, putting your link in your signature at any forum you post at is a good idea. Not only do you get visitors from form readers who decide to visit your link, but you also get a backlink for each time you post.

When placing your link in the signature of a forum, use a keyword for the text to be displayed over the link. For example, this site's URL is http://pagerankguide.blogspot.com. This would be OK to put in my signature, but it would be more interesting and more useful SEO-wise to use a keyword instead of the direct URL. So in this case I would use PageRank Guide as my keyword and link. This entices people to click the link and when people search for "PageRank Guide", search engines will see that another site links to me for that keyword, so my website must be relevant to that keyword, thus placing my site on the first page.

Google PageRank: Improve Your Pagerank

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

So to start my journey off I am going to tell you ways of increasing your PageRank. These are conventional PR increasing tips, but if done correctly, they can be the most effective ways of boosting your PR.

Here are the PageRank tips:

Write unique and interesting content

Most every webmaster I know preaches "Content is King." Well, through a year of research, I have found this to be true. No one will go to your website if the content is the same they could find at another major website. Also, through the eyes of Google, this is considered duplicate content and is stealing, which will take a major hit on your PR. And if the content isn't interesting, there is no reason of reading the article.

Say that my website was about fur slippers, and I was looking to write an article about fur slippers. I could write this article a multitude of ways, but really it will come down to two things: writing for the search engines or writing for the people. Most young webmasters will choose the first option, believing it will give them the best oppurtunity to make money fast. While in some situations they can be proven correct, in the long run, the traffic will stop and there will be no loyal readers left. If every other sentence begins with your specified keyword, in this case fur slippers, the reader will be bored because the article is repetitive. Write to make the people happy first, then focus on the search engines.

I will finish this post in installments. There will be more tips soon!
